In the U.S.A., trains date back to the old west and cowboy era, However, during these modern times, wagon trains and railway have inspired many innovations about trails and railways. We can attribute these makeovers to: time, technology and trends. Mass transportation has transitioned from horsepower, locomotion to being propelled by various modern energy sources. Passengers, waiters, cooks, porters and conductors, have all been impacted and/or displaced.
What are some of the changes that have taken place? Railways and trains are being modified into unique structures. Some of the most popular modifications have been stationary museums. Others are used solely for public accommodations. And many are utilized in full or part, for transportation.
As people, places and needs for accommodations keep transitioning, more railway concepts are coming forth. Keep in mind that whichever innovative train adventure you choose to journey, it will be fun, nostalgic and very scenic.

There will be soon. I think it has just started. Especially after the last 3 decades of metrolinks and railings… they found a way not to dispose of old cargo carriers. Good thing too. Soon this concept will be everywhere.

I always forget about those bed and breakfast places that are made from train cars. Whenever I am reminded of them I want to stay at one!
And these adventures were and still are more exciting than taking a plane. How nice it is to enjoy travel, bnb at ground level. The train stations were big and exciting then. The cozy-railway themed box cars etc. renovations are a nice comeback. ❤

I have been to tour the caboose of an old train at Flagler museum in Florida. It was a real treat. Love those old trains and I am glad they are still around for us to marvel at. :)

Trains are so connected to our history, social and industrial relationships. Land and sea are better for travel. I have learned through others and reading about how train travel was once so glamorous. Air travel had a speck of glamour too.
My husband remembers getting hot towels when he used to fly to Chicago…he was only a student then but those were the days!
Hot towels aren’t a amenity in air flights. Imagine the beds on trains. Now I’m am wondering about showers and baths…🤔And luggage had a name.. a different name…“grips”! I got the grips word fro my dad.
Remember too bus transportation moved the scene. I wonder what could be next. 🤔
I am sorry I never flew on the Concorde…what a ride that must have been !

Such wonderful photos! I traveled by train a few times in my life. My first time was when my father moved the family across Canada to Ontario. I was 11 years old at the time and still remember enjoying traveling through the maritime s and Quebec before arriving at our destination. It was a wonderful way to experience the country (or, at least part of it).
