Kool and the Gang “Summer Madness”

“Summer Madness” is an instrumental tune that was released in 1974 by Kool & the Gang on their album Light of Worlds. It reached number 35 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 36 on the Hot Soul Singles charts. It has subsequently become one of the most sampled R&B compositions of all time.   1. How did it happen that R&B which produced popular groups like Kool & The Gang suddenly converted to Rap?

    1. Don’t know.🤔 The language of slang became rhythmically coded. A Pre digital, short verse for an erratic, fast-moving world, I suppose. Every rapper that know, appreciates the historical sounds of R&B, Rock music, etc. A duh 🫠for me.
