Sign Your Name | Terence Trent D’Arby

D’Arby, a mega 80’s pop-rock music star whose persona and talent, took flight on the mainstreaming of music videos is still on high.

“Sign Your Name”, released as a single in 1987, was written and performed by D’Arby. His 1987 album “Introducing the Hardline According to Terence Trent D’Arby”, was an international success, reaching number two on the UK Singles Chart in early 1988 and number four on the US Billboard Hot 100.

The song was remixed by Lee “Scratch” Perry for some European releases. The music video was directed by Vaughan Arnell and was premiered in January 1988.

The music video features the model Kelly Brennan. Today, D’Arby has since changed his name to Sananda Maitreya and has broadened and enhanced his career into an add of tv and film.

Maitreya has appeared in two films and in the TV mini-series Shake, Rattle and Roll: An American Love Story, in which he played the part of Jackie Wilson; Clubland as Toby (feature film directed by Mary Lambert) and Static Shock (TV series, 1 episode, “They’re Playing My Song” as DJ Rock)
