Hey Leroy, Your Mama’s Calling You – Jimmy Castor

In late 1966, Jimmy Castor, with is group known as the Jimmy Castor Bunch released the song “Hey Leroy, Your Mama’s Callin’ You”.

He is best known for songs such as “It’s Just Begun”, “Bertha Butt Boogie”, and the biggest hit single, million-seller “Troglodyte (Cave Man).”

Although Castor is known for his funk, r&b, soul rhythms, many of his group’s tunes have been heavily sampled in films and in hip-hop. In particular, the saxophone hook and groove from the title track of It’s Just Begun. For example Ice-Tsampled the track for the title track of his 1988 album Power.
